Hayne is a Christian. He became a member of the Hillsong Church in 2008, partly inspired by his Fijian teammates at the 2008 World Cup. Hayne is a supporter of Liverpool F.C. of the English football Premier League, and considers Steven Gerrard as one of his sporting heroes. From his earnings, Hayne invested in a three bedroom terrace in Darlinghurst. The terrace was bought for $1.13 million and in August 2019 has been listed for $2.27 million. Hayne was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 15 February 1988. He is the son of a Fijian father, Manoa Thompson, and an Australian mother, Jodie Hayne. His father played professional rugby league for South Sydney, Western Suburbs and the Auckland Warriors while also representing Fiji. Hayne was one of three children raised by his single mother, and grew up in a red brick Campbelltown housing commission house in Minto. In early life Hayne took up athletics winning multiple titles. He still holds the under 8- and under 9-year-old Public School Sports Association (PSSA) 100 metre records. He competed in Little Athletics until under 15 age group. He attended school at John Warby Public School, Leumeah High and Westfields Sports High School but dropped out of high school early to pursue a career in rugby league. The Australian professional Rugby player, Jarryd is also a Rugby sevens player who is currently playing in the National Rugby League as a Fullback for the Gold Coast Titans. However, he had previously played for the team Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League. His other matches were scheduled with the San Francisco 49ers and the Fiji national rugby sevens team of the National Football League and in the Rugby Union respectively. Due to Jarryd’s brilliant moves, he has earned a plethora of awards which include awards at National Rugby League All-Star, State, as well as international levels which are Fiji and Australia all through is Rugby career lifetime. In the year 2009, he was given the Dally M Medal. Consequently, he was awarded the National Rugby League’s player of the year in the year 2014. Most prominently, he won the award namely International player of the year by Rugby League International Federation. Recently, in the year 2016, Jarryd proclaimed that he would be retired from the National Football League. Later, he intended to join the Fiji Rugby sevens team with the aim of taking part in the 2-16 Summer Olympics. Notably, his team was declared as the winners continuously for three times in the matches namely Rugby League four Nations, Rugby League World Cup, and State of Origin Series.
